The fourth meeting of the six session China National of Technical Committee for Gas Standardization (referred to Gas Standard Committee) and China National Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Standardization Committee Gas Branch was held on May 16-17, 2023 in Hefei. More than 150 experts and enterprise representatives from the domestic electronic gas industry attended the meeting. Mr. Pu Chungan, Executive Vice President of CIGIA, as a member of CIGIA, attended the meeting and made a speech on behalf of CIGIA and Committee of 100 on China Electronic Gases.

Committee members and experts reviewed a number of China national standards of "Electronic Special Gas Carbon Monoxide", "Electronic Special Gas Carbon Dioxide", "Electronic Special Gas Carbonyl Sulfur".

Mr. Fu Chungan pointed out that gases are industrial blood, electronic food, energy security, life support, health care, food additives, insurance boost, fire extinguishing, intelligent energy storage, carbon neutral support, etc.; among them, electronic gases are the important basic materials for pan-semiconductor industries such as integrated circuits, new displays, solar photovoltaic, etc., and they are widely used in the manufacturing processes of cleaning, etching, film forming, doping, etc. The establishment and revision of China national and group standards for electronic gases can strongly promote the development of China national standards. Thereby solve the problem of the "stuck neck" problem of domestic semiconductor upstream materials, to promote the high-quality development of the industry, and to enhance the modernization level of semiconductor industry supply chain. He emphasized that China National standard system optimization pilot work, which recently has been promoted by the State Administration for Market Regulation, requires that the formulation of China national standards should consider group standards of industry associations, and group standards can be adopted; therefore, CIGIA group standards will be considered actively to combine with the development of China's gas industry, especially the development of the electronic gases, close to the needs of the industry, give full play to the advantages of group standardization and revision, and lay a foundation for China national standardization and revision.
