From November 8th to 9th, the 33rd Annual General Meeting of China Industrial Gases Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as: CIGIA) was successfully held in Changsha, Hunan. With the theme of "Gas empowers China's modernization and supports high-quality economic development", the conference contributed practical wisdom for the gas industry to promote economic transformation and upgrading. More than 300 leaders and representatives from member units of CIGIA member companies and related companies gathered together to discuss the new ecology and new opportunities for green development and low-carbon utilization of the gas industry.

Mr. Ma Yinchuan, President of CIGIA and General Manager of Beijing Shougang Gas Co., Ltd., delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of this annual general meeting. Mr. Ma Yinchuan said that at present, the world economic recovery lacks momentum and needs to work together to seek common development. CIGIA has been fully, accurately and comprehensively implementing the new development concept, striving to promote the high-quality development of China’s gases industry. At the same time, in order to ensure the safety of China's industrial chain and supply chain, it actively supports gas industry enterprises to strengthen them, make up for their shortcomings, build a solid foundation, attract talents, build consensus, and promote development. We support the high-quality development of the industry in many aspects, including communication and coordination of industrial policies, building service platforms for rare gases, helium industry, and energy storage, strengthening the identification and promotion of scientific and technological achievements, new products and new technologies, and formulating and revising standards.

At the opening ceremony of the membership meeting, Mr. Deng Tao, President of Guangzhou Guanggang Gases & Energy Co.,Ltd., Mr. Xie Lemin, President of Sichuan Shudao Equipment & Technology Co., Ltd., and Mr. Shen Jianlin, President of Zhejiang Industrial Gas Association, also delivered speeches at this meeting. Guests attended the meeting and listened to Mr. Pu Chungan's speech on the "2023 Annual Work Report of CIGIA", "2023 Annual Financial Summary Report of CIGIA", "2024 Annual Work Plan of CIGIA" and "2023 Updated List of Members of CIGIA", then reviewed and approved the above work reports.

Mr. Pu Chungan made a comprehensive and in-depth summary of CIGIA's work in 2023 from the aspects of striving to promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, effectively strengthening safety and environmental protection, promoting green and low-carbon development, actively promoting the high-quality development of the gas industry, promoting the synergy of various professional fields, actively carrying out research on enterprises and the study of major developmental issues and standards of the industry, and striving to provide good two-way services between association members and CIGIA. The main work is as follows:

The association conscientiously implements new development concepts and strives to promote the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure. On November 22, 2022 and August 8, 2023, the ninth and tenth session of the ninth council of CIGIA was held online and offline respectively. At the same time, a conference on "High-Quality Development of China's Gases Industry" was also organized, and Mr. Pu Chungan delivered a keynote report on "How to Promote the High-Quality Development of China's Gases Industry".

In order to establish positive examples and promote the advanced transformation and upgrading experience and measures of outstanding enterprises, the association has always paid great attention to the brand and quality work of enterprises. Over the years, it has continued to promote the cultivation, application, recommendation and review of well-known brands in the gases industry. It has continuously carried out credit rating evaluation and innovative product declaration in the past two years, which improve the overall quality level of the industry. The 2023 China Gases Exhibition awarded the CCGAE 2023 Innovative Company Award, CCGAE 2023 Innovative Product Gold Award and CCGAE 2023 Innovative Product Award. We also organized the identification of two new products and technologies, including the "Hydrogen Energy Quality Mobile Testing Vehicle" of Shanghai Huaai Chromatography Analysis Technology Co., Ltd. and the "Cylinder Valve Quick Connector" of Jinan Huaxin Fluid Control Co., Ltd.

In order to effectively strengthen safety and environmental protection, and promote green and low-carbon development, the association has also communicated and coordinated with relevant ministries and commissions many times to solve the problem of mixed gas properties, emergency accident pools, and the removal of "industrial and medical gas product manufacturing enterprises" from the fine chemical industry. In order to strengthen industry exchanges, we organized exchanges with the Hong Kong Fire Services Department on standard technologies and safety aspects related to hazardous chemicals, hydrogen energy and electronic gases, and fire-fighting gas storage, transportation and manufacturing. And completed the release of the 2023 China National Gases Industry "Safety Production Month" activities.

In order to actively promote the high-quality development of the gas industry and promote collaborative progress in various professional fields, the association organized a number of studies and conferences in 2023 in rare gases, helium, electronic gases, gas digitalization, hydrogen energy, LNG, carbon neutrality, and hydrogen health. In order to effectively change the work style and provide more targeted services for enterprises, the Association has strengthened the investigation and research on enterprises so as to put forward practical and targeted opinions and suggestions to better enhance the high quality and sustainable development of the gas industry, and the Association has completed the leading and preparation of 20 standards in 2023, and has also organized a number of seminars. In order to ensure the development of the gas industry, CIGIA actively communicates in depth with branches and member companies, enhances interaction between companies through the association's platform, and creates conditions for the healthy and stable development of the industry.

Mr. Pu Chungan reported CIGIA’s group standard system and its latest revision. The standard system includes nine major sections: gas safety, gas equipment, electronic gases, energy gases, food and pharmaceutical gases, fire-fighting gases, industrial gases, gas storage and transportation, and general basics. Among them, 58 standards including the regulations on filling and use of LNG welded insulated gas cylinders have been revised, and 18 standards including helium and hydrogen energy group standards will undergo final review and release. After the revision of the above standards is completed, it will effectively promote the safe, stable, high-quality and sustainable development of China's gases industry.

This annual meeting has a special "Keynote Forum" that let presidents from major domestic gases companies to give keynote speeches. During the session, Mr. Deng Tao, President of Guangzhou Guanggang Gases & Energy Co.,Ltd., made a speech on "Born from tradition, developed from high technology - the high-quality development path of Guanggang Gases "; and Mr. Xing Gang, Deputy Director of Baowu Clean Energy Co., Ltd. made a presentation on "Baowu Clean Energy and the High Quality Development of Gas Industry - An Analysis of Green and Low Carbon Air Separation Technology" on behalf of Mr. Wei Wei, President of Baowu Clean Energy Co., Ltd.; Mr. Tang Bo, General Manager of Gas Operation Center of Hangzhou Oxygen Group Co., Ltd. made a presentation on "Transformation and Upgrading, Going Forward with Courage" on behalf of Mr. Zheng Wei, President of Hangzhou Oxygen Group Co., Ltd.; Mr. Ge Haojun, President of Hangzhou Fortune Gas Cryogenic Group Co. Ltd. made a presentation on "From 80~80,000 - The Road of Fortune Gas's High-Quality Development"; Mr. Xie Lemin, President of Sichuan Shudao Equipment & Technology Co., Ltd., made a report on "Thinking about the high-quality development of Shudao equipment".

This meeting also grandly released the list of winners of the three major awards: the 2023 China Industrial Gases Industry Association Patent Award, the 2023 China Gases Industry Enterprise Credit Rating Evaluation, and the 2023 China Gases Industry Famous Brand.

A roundtable forum was held at the end of the meeting. Based on the production situation of their respective companies, industry characteristics, and difficulties and hot spots in corporate development, the guests also provided high-quality views on how innovation can bring new economic growth to the industry, and deeply analyzed the opportunities & Challenges faced by the development of the gas industry.
